Rated 2 out of 5 by from Don't last five minutes These cut brilliantly, the first hole you drill. Then after literally 4 holes you might as well be using a piece of cheese. I was cutting into standard bathroom wall tiles from a high street supplier. By the fifth hole the drills were unable to cut to any meaningful extent. By my calculations this means they're costing around £2.92 per hole drilled. If you have a lot of holes to drill you might save money paying somebody to come round with proper tools and do it for you.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Constantly need wetting These bits are not suitable for drilling holes on tiles that are already on the wall, the cooling wax doesn't work this way so you have to manually coop the bit, which still gets hot an seems to blunt very fast. I was disappointed with this set.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from ERBAUER DIAMOND TILE DRILL SET Good little drills only used twice so cant say how long they will last but so far so good

Rated 4 out of 5 by from did the job well I realised the tiles I had to drill were porcelain when the TCT bits I have took 5 mins to go 3mm deep. The difference with these bits is night and day, taking only a min or 2 to drill through the tile. The tiles were 20mm dia hexagon mosaics, which meant the drill guide wouldn’t stick. Maybe a larger cup would have worked better, so worth keeping in mind if you’ve got small tiles. I went for the set as it was much cheaper than buying individually and the sizes covered what I’d need for use with different sized wall plug fixings. I expect these may wear out quicker than more expensive ones, but as they’re a lot cheaper they’re also good value.

These drill bits are recommended to be used at full speed. Would a typical battery powered drill have sufficient speed, or should an electric powered drill be used.

Asked by: Crispman
Hello, A battery powered drill should deliver enough speed for this drill bit. Thank you for using Q&A.

Can these drill bits be used to drill hols in concrete?, if not what product is suitable for drilling 6mm - 8mm holes in concrete

I will need the drill bit to cope with drilling approx. 100 holes so it needs to be able to cope with that. Many thanks
Asked by: CraigSw
Hi CraigSw, These tile drills would not really be suitable for concrete. For drilling 6-8mm holes in concrete it would be better to use a masonry drill such as (at the time of writing) the Erbauer Straight Shank Masonry Drill Bit 6 x 100mm (2795V) or the Erbauer Straight Shank Masonry Drill Bit 8 x 150mm (9837V). Thanks for using Screwfix Q&A. JT
