Rated 2 out of 5 by from Unimpressed Bought this kit week ago an already the 6mm drill bit is shot. Only done 8 holes with it. Now I’ll have buy another 6 mm bit, just hope the other 2 sizes last longer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good value and performance Good clamp easy to use and the bits are good quality too. Drilled through some very hard tiles that finished off a previous bit. Reliability scored down slightly as the clamp seems quite a soft plastic and I don't think would take much abuse

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good drill set I bought this drill set to get through quite thick slate tiles, it made the job a pleasure to do. Nice clean cut all the way through the slate. It is expensive, but worth the money in my opinion.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from NOT SURE Bought these to drill 10mm porcelain wall tiles. The suction cup guide is brilliant. The drill bits themselves, I’m not sure what I should be expecting. It takes 15+ minutes to drill a single 6mm hole. I have to keep cooling it in water. It sizzles when I dip it in water so the self cooling idea doesn’t work in my option. The other reviews suggest they’re excellent so maybe it’s me.

These drill bits are recommended to be used at full speed. Would a typical battery powered drill have sufficient speed, or should an electric powered drill be used.

Asked by: Crispman
Hello, A battery powered drill should deliver enough speed for this drill bit. Thank you for using Q&A.

Can these drill bits be used to drill hols in concrete?, if not what product is suitable for drilling 6mm - 8mm holes in concrete

I will need the drill bit to cope with drilling approx. 100 holes so it needs to be able to cope with that. Many thanks
Asked by: CraigSw
Hi CraigSw, These tile drills would not really be suitable for concrete. For drilling 6-8mm holes in concrete it would be better to use a masonry drill such as (at the time of writing) the Erbauer Straight Shank Masonry Drill Bit 6 x 100mm (2795V) or the Erbauer Straight Shank Masonry Drill Bit 8 x 150mm (9837V). Thanks for using Screwfix Q&A. JT
