Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very happy with these While browsing for a flooring nailer + nails for fixing solid wood flooring I came across these, figured I'd give them a try rather than add another VERY specialised tool to my collection, so glad I did! These screws are amazing and I'll be using them for the skirting as well as the remaining floors throughout the house.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product for Flooring Ideal for fixing engineered flooring. No pilot holes needed, screw straight in. Makes installing floors much simpler.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not great for solid wood I used these on an 18mm solid oak floor into chipboard subfloor. They’re a great idea in theory, but the screw heads get stripped very easily, they don’t self drive at all and you need to apply a lot of downward pressure on a low torque setting to get them in. I lost about a third of the screws because the head stripped. I also had to drill pilot holes for each screw. I started with 2mm and 2.5mm but had to go up to 3mm to get them in reasonably reliably. This makes me worried about how well they will hold over time. Having to drill pilot holes, replace stripped screws makes the job take a lot longer than it should.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ideal for engineered boards I got thru 1.5 boxes of these fixing 15mm engineered boards to the joists. I didn’t have a single split and the boards are firmly held. I didn’t bother with pilots so it l took more time to get the t&g boards into position than it took to screw them

Can these be used with 120 mm wide log lap cladding

Asked by: Carlos2020
Thank you for your enquiry. These would be suitable for this application if used internally. If they are to be used externally, we would recommend our stainless steel version, you may also choose our 49mm length to give that extra purchase into the substrate.

15mm Engineered Flooring Suitability

Does anyone know if I can use these for 15mm engineered flooring? I read somewhere that 18mm is a minimum, but there is no reference to this in the manufacturer catalogue or here.
Asked by: Jon1987
If you mean that you want to lay 15mm engineered board, then yes these screws are fine as long as the substrate is of the correct size to accept the screw.

Use outdoors

Would these be suitable to use on a shed tongue and groove
Asked by: Mifi
Hello Mifi, If they are covered when fixed by the timber they should be ok but if not then our stainless steel may be better regarding corrosion. Shed timber is brittle so be careful not to split the timber, though that would be the same with any screw. If in doubt drive pilot holes. Regards
