Rated 5 out of 5 by from Skirting Having destroyed screw fixed skirting when removing. I used these screws on the replacement. The small head is sufficient to pull the slightly warped wood into the warped plaster wall but should enable the heads to pull through the wood when it’s prised off when the flooring is no longer fashionable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good....but Be Careful Bought these screws to secure solid oak wood flooring planks to plywood battens. On the whole they worked great. With a power screwdriver, they easily self cut into the wood and tightened beautifully. If you find you want to relay a plank, you can remove the screws easily - much harder with nails and of course, potentially more damaging when pulling nails out. I do emphasise to be careful with these screws though. Because of the long thin shank, if you don’t align the screwdriver perfectly, they can bend, snap or the screw head can round off - losing the ability to drive or retrieve the screw. I used 5 boxes and lost about 10 screws per box to this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very happy with these While browsing for a flooring nailer + nails for fixing solid wood flooring I came across these, figured I'd give them a try rather than add another VERY specialised tool to my collection, so glad I did! These screws are amazing and I'll be using them for the skirting as well as the remaining floors throughout the house.

Hi could these be used to fix 12mm tongue and groove to an osb wall on the inside of a summerhouse ?

Asked by: Lates
Yes these could be used but we would recommend using our Tongue-Tite Plus which are Stainless Steel and ideal for outside jobs.

Would these work for redwood T&G floorboards??

And I'm guessing redwood would be more likely to split that hardwood, so pilot holes would probably be needed too?
Asked by: AlanMidlands
Thank you for your enquiry. Tongue-Tite® will work well in this application. We would always suggest, where there is a chance the timber may split of first drilling the appropriate pilot hole.

Wall Plug

Can I use this screw with 6mm diameter / 40mm length red wall plug to screw skirting into concrete?
Asked by: Aran30
Yes it should be fine but you need to take into account how thick your skirting is. For example 45mm screw minus 15mm skirting will leave 30mm into the wall plug. You can always drive the Tongue-Tite screw further into the board to give an extra 5mm as this screw has a very small head.

Is it best to put a screw in for every joist? And I’m guessing it’s just along one edge as the other edge is in the groove of the last?

Asked by: Wesley34
Thanks for your enquiry. Yes we would recommend screwing at each joist point and only in the tongue of the board. Hope this helps.
