Rated 1 out of 5 by from Use at your peril. As I can't solder confidently, I bought 2 of these push fittings to sort 2 radiator pipes. These are a one time use fitting, on connection and radiator all tightened up, I refilled the system, to my horror air gushing out of the 2 fittings, followed by water, no matter what I tried I couldn't get the leak to stop. Stress levels to the max, what should of taken minutes, ended up the whole morning cleaning up, and getting a plumber (emergency call out) to sort it. Avoid at all cost.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Handy when you can't solder Bought a few as a backup while updating radiator TRV's. Had to use due to water in pipes and unable to drain further. Unit was easy to install and seems sturdy enough, hopefully it'll stand the test of time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Major help when needed. I carry out basic plumbing jobs in my work as a general handyman, and indeed I can and do solder pipes no problem in the course of my work. Generally I stick to soldered joints or compression fittings but today I came up against a bit of a barrier to say the least. Why in gods name did we in the UK copy the daft American idea of burying EVERYTHING behind and in walls... makes any type of maintenance an absolute nightmare. I was in a real tight spot with some 10mm copper tube so rather than fiddling around with a compression fitting which probably didn't have enough space, or prepping the pipe for soldering which again I would have struggled with as the situation was so tight I decided to use a couple of these. I have to say they seem rock solid, I put one of these onto a piece of copper tube and then realised I was slightly out and needed to use a new piece of pipe. I tried removing this thing.....boy was it tight....even with me realising I was pointless in trying to re use this one particular fitting I persevered with a pair of water pump pliers and a pair of regular pliers to see if I could remove it... the answer was no..! The fitting tore the pipe to shreds and I simply couldn't budge it. So that's all great, these items are easy to use, quick and extremely strong... however, as with regular white type push fit fittings you have the ring at the base that you can push inwards to remove an already installed fitting, these dont have them... so once they are on.. they are on full stop. This is why I am giving a 4 star and not a 5 star rating.
