Rated 5 out of 5 by from Garage door theft proof Very tough built with heavy duty metal construction.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Garage security Does exactly what its intended to do, good build quality tried a cheaper one before buying this one and it pays to spend a bit extra

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Garage defender Great idea, and it does work only downside is the lock part is exposed to the elements and it rusts. Making it difficult to unlock. Mine has been on around 3 months. The key gets jammed and doesn’t want to come back out. This is caused by the lock part not being suitable for the outdoor weather. There has to be a better quality one that won’t rust and seize up.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Did the job for just 2 months Looked like a decent product for the money at first. However, after a few months the key got stiffer and, despite regular lubing, eventually it wouldn’t turn in the lock at all. I did see this in a couple of reviews before I bought it but hoped it wasn’t a common fault. Seems I was wrong! Shame.

Lock is stuck - help

This worked fine for a month and then I could insert the keys and rotate but the cylinder would not pull out to allow the lock to be removed. Now the keys wont even go all the way in. Help.
Asked by: TheMFJ
Yep the same rubbish equipment here for me also. The padlock is rubbish and I dare not use the product and have not for over 3 months but with lock down what can do to get a replacement, not a great deal, just consider what and where I buy as usual.

Could the lock be fitted on a side wall rather than the floor?

Asked by: TimmyJ
Hi Thanks for your enquiry We have never tested it in this situation This really would be down to your judgment Regards Squire & sons

What height is the top of the bar

I want to fit this as a double gate stop on the outside of gates. does it swivel on the base plate if one gate is opened and how high is the top of the bar.
Asked by: jefferingo
Hi thank you for the question unfortunately the product is designed for up and over garage doors, the base is rigid so may not be suitable for your application

Fitting Distance

Whats the distance between centers of the fixing bolts front and back? also how far in front of the garage door is the front fixing bolt hole? I have limited space in the concrete floor before the block paving drive. many thanks
Asked by: petejet73
Front and back centres are 180 mm. The front hole will be approximately 140 mm from the door dependent on the gap allowed between door and cross bar. If you require any further information please email me at info@henry-squire.co.uk I will be able to respond more quickly.
