Rated 1 out of 5 by from Didn't perform well enough I have a garden watering system which I installed about 3 years ago. Plastic irrigation pipe with dedicated plastic connections. Recently an elbow joint started leaking. I tried re-assembling the joint/fittings with Roof and Gutter sealer but to no avail. I couldn't find my Denso Tape so turned to Screwfix and read the ratings for this product and it seemed it should do the job. I wrapped the joints with three overlapping layers making sure there was plenty of overlap. Twelve hours later I turned on the water and it squirted out in all directions. I duly let it dry for 24 hours and then gave another three continuous layers over the existing, overlapping even further. Another twelve hours and this time the joint seemed to hold water.....but not for long. This time it didn't seep through the tape (as previous), but the joint burst open under the water pressure meaning that the tape didn't have the lateral strength to support the joint. Overall I was very disappointed with the product and have since ordered some Denso Tape which I am sure will cure the problem. This tape didn't seem to me to be sticky enough to do the job although when I cut it away (which was very easy to do) it had amalgamated to itself quite well. but hadn't adhered to the plastic pipe as I would have expected it would need to in order to form a good seal and give adequate strength to the joint. It is clean and easy to use but was useless for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Doing it’s job well Used this around a submersed connection to a pump for a water feature. The provided connection had a single “O” ring which one would expect to be sufficient but as I was being super cautious I used this. After several weeks no issues. So either this is doing it’s job or the “O” ring is or it’s a combination of both. But I’m pleased that everything is working. Examination of the joint without unwrapping it seems to suggest there is no ingress of water.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Water leak Used this to seal a pin hole in brand new shower trap after trying everything and all other options to find out why it was leaking. I finally got down on my front and watched as I poured water in the shower tray - I could not believe what I saw. Did not buy the waste / trap from Screwfix it came with the new shower tray.

Would this tape be suitable for mending a small hole ( chewed by mice) in a small rubber hose inside a washing machine. The hose ,which is about 1cm external diameter, runs to the machine pressure switch so presumably carries water a some kind of pressure
