Rated 4 out of 5 by from Salamander CTFORCE 20TU so qui Having previously had fitted on recommendation the Salamander CT60BU which was possibly the noisiest pump ever created, it had recently expired from its 3 yr guarantee, when the noise had become intolerable. Was given other similar products to choose from, but having spoken to Salamander direct was assured the CTFORCE 20TU would be the perfect replacement & came with a 5 yr guarantee if correctly installed. It was an fairly expensive pump, but the difference is simply amazing the noise reduction is massive. Thankyou Salamander faith restored.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from A rare bad experience Have fitted many salamander pumps and never had any issues. This time however was very different. The first pump started leaking immediately after fitting. After checking every joint and fitting and finding no leak the only conclusion I could come to was the pump itself was leaking. Nothing obvious around the base of the accumulator but water was periodically dripping out of the centre of the pump that houses the electrical components. Returned item to the store whereupon the apologetic staff kindly ordered a replacement. Collected the replacement pump the following day. When I opened the box I found 3 x 22mm hoses and 1x 15mm hose (supposed to be 4 x 22mm). If this wasn't bad enough, the accumulator vessel that sits on top of the pump was also badly bent which I assuming would have required significant force. This struck me as odd as the external box was completely undamaged. This second pump has been returned and I will see what pump no.3 is like before deciding If I ever buy a Salamander negative head pump again.

I have a positive head pump installed at the base of the hot water cylinder but the outlets to the shower go back up into the loft entering the 600mm zone from the water tank. Will this pump work ok as my present positive head pump works intermittently.

Asked by: MarkkkkM
as the pipework is close than 600mm below the base of the cold water tank we would always advise to use a negative head pump the CTForce 20TU is 2 bar negative head so will work well in that application

Gravity fed system salamander pump

My hot water cylinder is 3" above the very bottom of my existing salamander pump. Bottm of Cold water tank is 10" above hot w cylinder and 55" above pump. Can I use this pump any help4me
Asked by: Davetomfred
Hi Yes this pump would be fine, however it must be installed with a Non Stop Essex Flange on the hot water cylinder and an anti gravity loop in the pipework off the flange to the pump. hope this helps many thanks Stephen
