Rated 5 out of 5 by from Probably one of the best I have been using prysmian cable for many years. Personally I think it’s one of the best you can buy. Being an Electrician for nearly 20+ years you need cables that you can 100% trust. Prysmian have my trust completely.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Perfect for DIY. This is fine for DIY but if you want to use a cable puller/dolly etc it's annoying as the reel is high but narrow instead of wide and shallow like most others, which means it's constantly coming off the reel. The box it comes with which I assume is ment to be used to reel out the cable is trash. SF are normally very competitive on price for cable so at this time it was good value but always check.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Cable OK - dispenser awful Buying a premium product should be a decent experience. The cable seems fine - but the cardboard dispenser is awful. Very difficult to get it to unreel satisfactorily. Won't be buying again.

Does this require trunking protection if set into plastered wall, or can it be plastered over.

Asked by: PAUL7
Hi, We would not anticipate any significant effects, short or long term, if the cable is plastered over; if there are any effects then these would most likely present themselves during the curing/drying phase of the plaster but would be short-lived. Over the long term there could potentially be some migration of the plastciser resulting in loss of flexibility but this should not be an issue if the cable is fixed (i.e. not subjected to repeated flexing). Otherwise, we would recommend not loading the cables before the plaster is dried and to consider 'capping' the cable wherever possible.

What width of hole would I need to drill to fit this cable through?

Asked by: dwl99
Thank you for contacting Prysmian Technical Support. Please accept our apologies for the delay in responding. We understand if you have overcome the situation you presented to us, in case that you have not, we would recommend that if you have already purchased the cable, that you ensure the hole is adequate for the cable to fit. If you have yet to acquire the cable and are looking to "get ready" for the first fix than as a guide the hole should be sufficient to allow for the maximum size of 6.2mm x 11.7mm, i.e. approximately an 11 or 12mm hole. We trust that this is helpful. Thank you Kind regards Technical Team
