Suitable to extend an EV Type 2 Charger lead?
Can this extension lead be used safely with the Masterplug 10A 2.3kW Mode 2 Type 2 Socket Electric Vehicle Charging Cable as this is too short to reach the car. I only actually need an extra 2m so if there's a better alternative let me know please?

Hi PIP55,
It is traditionally considered best practice to plug an EV lead directly into a hard-wired socket, but as long as the constant power capacity of 13A (3120W / 3.12kW) when fully unwound or 3A (720W / 0.72kW) partially coiled is not exceeded then there shouldn't be any issues with the proposed usage.

Hi travelfan,
For a 13A extension the constant power capacity of 13A (3120W / 3.12kW) when fully unwound or 3A (720W / 0.72kW) if partially coiled (neatly), so a 2kW heater should not cause any problems.
We would advise making sure the extension doesn't get anywhere near the emitter head though, as it would be very susceptible to having the PVC sleeving melted if exposed in that way.

Safe to use inside?
Can this safely be used inside? I run a portable dehumidifier unit outside the bathroom door and bedrooms - 1-3 hrs a day. There's no plug socket close enough. Also it won't be fully unwound, would this still be safe?

Yes it is IP rated and only a single socket. This means you cannot overload it.
I charge my car which uses the full 3kw for over 20hrs without issue.
