Rated 4 out of 5 by from Disappointed with price This paint stripper is a good product, give it time & it does the job, I also bought the Diall paint stripper which is exactly the same product, same bottle, from the same maker just with a different label, but what was disappointing was the diall paint stripper was £5 cheaper!!! Thats 25% more expensive Why is this screwfix?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Fake Reviews?! This product is utter garage. Despite following the instructions to the letter, it’s removed almost nothing. Don’t be tricked into the positive reviews this is junk.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do not waste your money After applying loads of it to remove varnish from aluminium it did not even raise a blister. With Nitromors it came up immediately. Do not waste your money on this rubbish. It's utterly useless.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Removes varnish with ease I used this to remove clear varnish from Victorian wood panelling. It does remove varnish just be patient and allow the stripper to work for an hour before stripping. Be aware that after one removal process you may have the odd small patch that needs another treatment. Make sure you wear gloves and eye protection.

I want to strip some hardwood kitchen units. Will this dissolve the glue that's gluing the panels together.

Why does this product say that you should not use it with steel wool?

Asked by: ClaireS
Hello ClaireS, This should be used with wire wool as it can very corrode the wool which will leave brown marks on the surface you're using it on. If this isn't a concern that you can use it but if you're using it on something you don't want stained then you would be better of using a stainless steel wool. Thank you for using Q&A

Can this remove hard wax oil from wood please?

Asked by: Mishcum
Hello, Hard wax oil is essentially a combination of wax and oil. Regretfully we have not tested this product for its performance in removing either wax or oils from wood, so we are not able to comment on how well (if at all) it would perform. Generally, for the removal of hard wax oil it is recommended to thoroughly wipe with white spirits and then sand away the rest (the white spirit helps to remove the initial layer of wax oil so that the sanding sheets will not get bunged up with the wax oil). If you are resolved to try this stripper we would strongly recommend conducting a patch test on a small, inconspicuous area first, to ensure the finished results are satisfactory BEFORE applying to the entire wooden surface. We would also strongly recommend consulting with a tradesperson for additional advise how to best remove hard wax oil finish from wood. Thanks for using Q&A

Is this product suitable for use and effective on glass?

Asked by: Jeffers1886
Yes , just be careful if it is glass in a window frame , because it may attack the UPVC frame and if a wooden frame and putty is used , it may react with this .

Can't clean up with water

Hi - I've stripped some old woodwork with this. The paint has turned into a horrible sticky putty-like substance that is sticking to all of my tools and DOES NOT WASH OFF WITH WATER WITH OR WITHOUT DETERGENT. What should I use for cleanup?
Asked by: RegretfulPurchaser
Thank you providing this information , this tells me it is one of two things either not enough Stripper has been applied or not enough time has been given. Applying more Stripper is the only solution adding any water at this stage will only stop the reaction and cause the problem you are having
