is braided steel stronger/weaker than armoured steel?

Need cable (with lock) to secure tall metal entrance gates- deter intruders. Will 10mm braided steel be strong enough/ cut "proof", or would armoured steel type of cable be better/worse? please reply asap if you can advise Many thanks
