Rated 5 out of 5 by from Impact Driver I have not had time to use this yet but from all the reviews I’ve read it’s a cracking little tool. This will be just right as I’m retired and didn’t want anything major like they use in the trade. I bought it in the Black Friday sale and just as well because it’s now back up to full price. I’m well pleased. Screwfix is my go to place for things like this as they have such good deals and very pleasant staff.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Crackin’ bit of kit For a small impact driver, it really packs a punch. I was blown away by the torque it has. Great addition of the LED light and looks fantastic.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Makita impact driver Such a powerful and compact piece of kit. Used main drill on screwdriver setting for ages, to use this is a revelation and I can't believe it took me so long to get one! One of the best tool additions i have made in years. And to buy a 'bare unit' makes it so affordable too. The only upgrade I'd like, would be to have pre-set variable speeds.

Why are a lot of power tools sold without battery and charger ?

Asked by: Alister59
As you may already have plenty of batteries and chargers. You tend to chose a brand and have several batteries to swap between them.

Car Wheel Bolts

Is this tool suitable for removing car wheel bolts?
Asked by: G8YTZ
Not ideally no, if you need to remove wheel bolts or other nuts on a regular basis then you really want an Impact Wrench, they have more power (torque) than an Impact Driver and they also have a ½" (half inch) square drive for using sockets from a socket set or specific impact sockets of different sizes to fit nuts & bolts. ...however you can buy a Hex to ½" Square Drive Adapter to enable you to fit sockets to an Impact Driver like this for occasional nut removal but as I say it not ideal.

Is this what used to be called a drill?

Asked by: Scribi
No, it is essentially a "power screwdriver" It does this by using concussive force and higher torque than a standard drill to drive in a screw. It doesn't have a conventional chuck for holding drill bits, instead you need to buy screwdriver bits with a "hex shank" Impact Drivers are great for inserting (or removing) stubborn or long screws where a drill would normally struggle, they are a powerful tool and because of their power they're not really suited for more delicate screwing tasks.

Does this come in a branded cardboard box?

I ordered from somewhere else but it came in a plain white box, with us being a gift I want it presented nicely.
Asked by: LouiseHamber
