Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does what it says This is a simple water conditioner. NOT softener. It's 15mm, connects easily. Not too big. Does it's job. Run it with fresh cold once in situ for a few minutes to take any production taste, oil, etc. off it. and then good to go. EASY.

Flow Direction?

Is there a specific flow direction or can it be installed either way?
Asked by: Redz42
The unit is non-directional so you are correct it can be installed either way. Furthermore it can be installed at any angle between horizontal and vertical.

Can this be installed in the hot water system (I.e. is it magnascale certified)?

Asked by: 4456
This product is certified by WRAS as an approved product for drinking water systems. It should be installed on the cold feed and will protect all appliances that heat water in the property. Limescale is in its liquid state in cold water - that’s why it’s most effective in that position - as soon as water starts to be heated limescale formation begins - so don’t fit this after the water has been heated.

Which scale inhibitor works best magnetic or electrolytic?

Asked by: dasser102
Magnetic devices are for single appliance use whereas electrolytic devices are whole house, so will protect any water heating appliance that spurs off. Additionally the electrolytic is recognised as being effective to treat combi boilers in Part L of the Building Regs.

Is this suitable to use with a central heating boiler?

Asked by: Ian90
It’s suitable for the hot water circuit especially for combi boilers that heat water on demand. It’s not suitable for the recirculating central heating circuit - use an inhibitor such as Flomasta Inhibitor for that purpose.

Thinking about buying this to replace my existing device. Can you let me know the length of it please. Thank you

Asked by: Mummydiy
The total length of the device is 175mm (with compression fittings and olives removed) and the distance between pipe-stops is 155mm which is the size of the gap required to fit this device.
