Rated 4 out of 5 by from You'll need to be quick! This is a great resin - feels as strong as mortar once hardened. It goes off very quickly though, especially in warm conditions. You need to get everything prepped up front and plan your strategy before you start pumping the product from the tube. I had six studs to place and the operation felt like a tense medical procedure. I found that the working time was too short - literally less than 10 minutes, so I cooled the second tube in the fridge for an hour beforehand and that gave me a few more minutes working time. I would probably also consider also cooling the fittings (studs etc.) too. Fischer do make a 'low speed' version of this (Screwfix don't stock it), which I tried but it didn't seem that much slower. The product is in two parts in the tube and mixes in the mixing nozzle as you squeeze it out. Each pack is supplied with two nozzles; the product hardens in the nozzle so they are effectively single-use. It is also possible to mix the product by hand (like epoxy glue) if you squeeze some onto a mixing board directly from the tube (i.e. without a nozzle). I found this useful for topping up holes where I hadn't filled them quite enough. Just clean up the end of the tube so that the two components are kept separate afterwards. Then the screw cap can be re-fitted. It's a great product though. The fast setting is probably great for most people but my application needed more time to get everything postioned. I'll definitely use it again and make sure I have a fridge handy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing product Bought this to try and repair three broken concrete garage panals..i was very sceptical but the price was the winner for an attempt at the repair. I kept the product warm and prepared everything first due to the reviews I've read on here, then using an extra pair of hands applied the resin with a standard gun, with the extra hands pushing it into the cracks. Managed to get all three done in about 5mins, then boom, the resin instantly went rock hard leaving the panals rigid as a corpse in a coffin! Highly recommend this resin but word of caution, do not take your time applying it and get everything prepared first.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product I have used this chemfix many times and always sets my threaded rods solid. Goes off quick and if it is warm you will need both mixing tubes to use the full tube.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not what it says on the tube Firstly, I'll admit I used this product for filling in a crack in a concrete floor, which isn't exactly what it is meant for. However, I'd say the problems I've had with it are still valid. At first the resin came through the nozzle no problem, but after a minute or two it became very difficult to squeeze it out, requiring a lot of effort and two hands on the lever. Worst of all though, the curing time should have been no more than 90 minutes, but after 2 days it is still sticky.

How many 14mm x 100mm holes will one tube typically fill?

Asked by: Krishall

Is this suitable for horizontal fixings into brick ? approximately 12mm diameter hole and 6-8mm bolt fixing?

Asked by: Anonymous
You generally drill the hole 2mm bigger than your bolt size so m6 8mm hole, m8 10mm, m10 12mm, m12 14mm, fill the hole and bang your bolt/bar in, works great used many times

suitable for awning?

I am looking to install an awning weighing 75kg onto a solid brick wall. Would this be appropriate and would it work with FIS E internal threaded sockets?
Asked by: Alex99
Don't know about the sockets you refer to but this was the resin recommended to me by Fischer tech support for my awning (7m long x 4m out). Fixing is to 1930's rendered blockwork wall of variable quality - this resin with M12 stainless rods worked a treat (as it's suitable for cracked concrete). REALLY important to get the dust out of the hole and try to avoid going into the cavity...you can remove any excess around the hole with a multitool.
