Rated 5 out of 5 by from THIS WORKS! There is a lot of people that doubt that these things work after reading as much as I could about the principle of the Electrolytic type and knowing Fernox as a well established company I fitted one in my apartment which has very hard water where we have to use Kilrock surface descaler on the taps every day, two weeks on the marks on the taps if any just wipe off, shower head is spotless, the kettle has no scale so yes for me IT WORKS.

Where best position for scale inhibitor in heating system?

Asked by: Grist
Hi, this is a scale reducer and should be fitted no closer that 50cm on the incoming mains to the boiler. It is not an inhibitor, that is Fernox F1 which is a liquid that should be added to the central heating system.

Electrolytic scale inhibitor

Hi So I take this can be installed on the incoming mains to a property ? Or the inlet to an appliance such as a boiler ? I take it then the water is still potable.. Regards
Asked by: Tom485
Hi Tom485, Yes on your incoming mains or individual appliance, the water is still potable as no chemicals are added it just changes the limescale crystal formation
