Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ideal for novice DIY To start I have never owned nor used this type of saw, I had a small project that required accurate cuts hence the purchase after looking at other screwfix reviews. I had a budget and this fitted the bill. My friend has a dewalt saw which he used to trim down my doors, I could have borrowed this but I prefer having my own kit. The ordering and purchase was as always a piece of cake via my loca branch. The kit is boxed up well, only thing that is a slight pain is the track lengths x 2 at 700mm long I may invest in more pieces or longer lengths but I cut down several long 2.5m length and it’s not the end of the world moving the track a few times. The tracks also come with clamps which are very good at holding everything in line. Get the instructions out and read them, this is a dangerous bit of kit in the wrong hands. Also make sure your work area is set up right I used a couple of hop ups and rested my work pieces on timber. The saw Performance is good, let the saw do the work, used on and off all day cutting plinths. Very pleased with the saw would recommend

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Useless Doesn't cut straight because the guide rail isn't straight!! Avoid.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Mr I`m very pleased with the saw, I have used it quite a bit along with the rails and they are way better than I expected. On the whole it is great value for money. I would really like 2 extra rails so I can rip an 8ft sheet down the middle. The staff in the Mold store are excellent, they are courteous and helpful.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Shocking support This saw whilst works as intended is simply not worth buying. I am at the needing new blade and rail stage and Screwfix have none, they don't stock replacements of any kind for this saw. The rails are also to slidey when you cant use the clamps You would think they would have a consumablea such as blades in stock for this but no, look elsewhere is their answer.

Carry bag

The saw doesn’t come with a Cary bag. What bag would the saw fit inside? I need a bag for occasional move from place to place, but mostly for storage and protection from the dust.
Asked by: Thomasko
Hello, Thank you for your enquiry. Something like STANLEY FATMAX QUICK ACCESS BACKPACK 53.7LTR (3048X) would be suitable. Hope that helps. Thank you for using Q&A.

Can you buy addional rails and joiners, need to cut 2400mm

Asked by: Jimborani
Hello Jimborani, I'm looking at buying this track saw and have researched additional track. I've found the Evolution HTCST1400 on toolden.co.uk. They list compatible saws and this one is listed (albeit correct as of 2018). This might be the way I go. Hope this helps. Russell

Where can i get a replacement blade?

Where can i get a relacement blade? You don't appear to sell them. 185mm - 20mm core - 48-Tooth TCT Blade
Asked by: PropertyDAlex
Hello PropertyDAlex, At the time of writing we do not have an exact replacement so if you want one with 48 teeth you would need to look elsewhere. Thank you for using Q&A

Makita rail

Does the makita rail fit pretty good or is it just worth paying double and getting the makita saw. Also replacement blades is looking like an issue, has anyone found a direct supply for spares?
Asked by: TAYT1
Hello TAYT1, Looking through previous reviews and emails in regards with the use of makita rails, we have had no complains on their fit. Thank you for using Screwfix Q&A. A.K.C.

Is cutting out a feature or a fault?

I have had this saw for a short time and have no previous experience of plunge saws. I'm finding when cutting lamiate worktop it often cuts out. Is this a feature, because it's being pushed too hard for example?
Asked by: IanABCDE
Hello, Thank you for your enquiry. There is no mention in the instructions of any thermal cut-out which suggests there is a fault. Please return to any of our Trade Counters where they will sort this out for you. Thank you for using Q&A.
