Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good core drill bit Needed to drill a hole for a 40mm sink waste pipe. Have used Erbauer core bits before so already had the accessory kit. Fitted to my old hammer drill (hammer function off) and it did a great job. I remove the pilot drill once the core has dug a channel about 1cm thick then it chewed through the inner brick in a few minutes, The outer bricks are hard as nails, like engineering bricks and the pilot drill would not make any progress so it took over an hour, with plenty of rest periods for the drill as it was getting quite hot. Eventually got there and had a neat hole all the way through.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 52mm diamond core drill Reasonable price. Did a great job even through Accrington bricks! Not high speed but patience is a virtue. Just remember - don't use hammer action on drill! Already had Erbauer core drill accessory set - core drill bits readily interchangeable. Would purchase other sizes as necessary. Looked after by team at Skipton, brilliant as always.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Diamond core drill Excellent bit of kit , DIY or professional. I wanted to drill a clean 52mm hole in sandstone slab this time, next time ? For the price with an additional arbor , pilot and drift, efficiently did the job in a few minutes. Arbor fits a standard drill chuck. Spot on

I only have a cordless DeWalt 18V drill. Is that powerful enough (and safe enough!) to use to cut through red brick?

Asked by: DomF
Hello DomF, This would work as long as the drill has a hammer setting. Thank you for using Q&A

What additional parts do I need to connect this drill bit to my drill to cut a hole through a cavity wall

I believe I may need an extension and arbor to drill through a cavity wall. What part numbers do I need?
Asked by: 33john
Hello 33john, You will need an arbor, either Erbauer Diamond Core Hex Arbor 90mm (2091V) or Erbauer Diamond Core SDS Plus Arbor 115mm (8666V) depending on your drill. The Erbauer Diamond Core Extension 200mm (8561V) and the Erbauer Diamond Core 8mm Pilot Drill 205mm (1601V) would then also be needed. Thank you for using Q&A

Suitable for groundwork stone

I need to dig holes into hard ground stone by a pavement for 6" depth border fencing. I've hammered at it with a heavy pickaxe, and there must be an easier way, short of pneumatic drill hire. Is this bit up to the task?
Asked by: Denigor777
Hello Denigor777, This will depend a lot on the stone. This bit can be used on things like poured concrete without reinforcement, bricks and concrete blocks but if you have a natural hard stone like granite then it may struggle. You will also need a good SDS drill to use this bit with, a combi drill won't do it. Thank you for using Q&A

What guide drill bits are compatible with the arbor and core drill bit?

Asked by: AlexGB
Good morning AlexGB, At the time of writing the 1601V is a compatible pilot drill bit. Thank you for using Q&A (CW)

I need to drill through a 500mm thick, random stone wall. Will this do it, and what other accessories do I need?

Asked by: Anonymous
Hello, This will be fine for your needs. You will also need expanding foam to loosen up the stone halfway through drilling. Thank you for using Screwfix Q&A. A.K.C.
