Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent performance, great v This is the 3rd Erbauer dry diamond core I've bought from Screwfix. I have the Titan starter kit with 3 cores (38, 52 and 117), but I've since added 104, 127 and now the 152mm cores. Performance has been spot on and there's no sign of wear on the tips after numerous holes in brick, block and concrete. The 127mm has been used vertically in concrete to replace a rotted fence post. Starting the hole without the benefit of a central pilot was a little tricky, but once it got going (used with a trickle of water from a hosepipe) it ate through the concrete really quickly. I got the 152mm to vent a portable air conditioning unit and was initially concerned as to whether my trusty old used and abused Titan SDS would be up to it. Needn't have worried. It ate through the render-set cinder block internal wall and then made short work of getting through the rendered red brick outer leaf. Cutting through the red brick was slower (as expected), though the whole job from start to finish including cutting and fitting the duct and terminals and cleaning up took just over 2 hours. Hand-held horizontal dry diamond drilling is tricky - you need to maintain firm, even pressure on the core at a low speed to get the best cutting performance. The core also needs to be held true to the path it has already cut, or the friction on the sides of the core will cause the drill's clutch to release and drilling stops. Patience and working slowly and steadily are the name of the game. The final cut was very clean and smooth. There was little dust - I used a dust extractor with the hose held slightly below and to the left of the hole being cut. There was also no visible wear on the cutter tips, so it'll be fine for a good few holes in the future. Overall, a robust reliable cutter and great value.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value reliable performer Once the teeth bit into the surface it made light work of carving out a gaping hole in our wall. Looking at the drill bit after, you'd hardly know it had been used. Couple of comments from a usability perspective: it would have been useful if the product details referred to the Arbor required to use the drill bit. Would have saved a second trip!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Like a hot knife thru butter This cracking product from Erbauer kept up the maker's good name once again. It ripped through two layers of brickwork in no time at all leaving a pristine aperture for a 6 inch flue to be fitted through. I have come to trust Erbauer since my local Screwfix branch opened; they provide excellent performance and quality at great value prices. I didn't really want to spend out any more on this current project, but have no regrets in doing so having seen the results achieved by buying the right tool for the job. I would definitely purchase more Erbauer products should I need new kit for future projects.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked a treat Bought to drill a hole for 6 inch extract fan through three imperial common bricks.. It cut through them like butter, took about 25 mins to complete without any problems. Can’t comment on reliability yet but if it continues like this will be very happy!!

Will the Arbor from kit 1154D Titan fit this Core Drill

Asked by: Kitman
Screwfix doesn't seem to list the Titan 1154D kit anymore, but I have a Titan kit with 3 cores and 3 further Erbauer cores and they all fit the Titan arbor, so I reckon you should be fine.

Does this come with an Arbour? if not which one is the correct Arbour for this core drill?

Asked by: BigDave1001
Hello there, An arbour is not included with this one and would require being purchased separately the suitable arbour is product code 8666V. Thank you for using Screwfix Q&A.

Have you got item.no Ifor the arbor which woul suit this item
Asked by: nobleman
Hello, The arbor you need will depend on whether you're using an SDS drill or normal chuck drill. For an SDS arbor look at 8666V, for a normal chuck drill look at 2091V. You may also need to consider a pilot drill (1601V) And an extension piece (8561V). Thanks for using Q&A. [DG].

Arbor fitting to suit?

Can you please advise which arbor is correct for this ( for an SDS Chuck) the 3 product numbers advised in the 2016 reply don’t exist anymore. Maybe Screwfix could suggest the correct arbor as a buyer makes the holesaw purchase?
Asked by: Bracks
Hello Bracks, The arbor would be the Erbauer Diamond Core SDS Plus Arbor 115mm (8666V). Thank you for using Q&A SW

Can this go further than stated length (more than 150mm or 6 inches) as I have 9 inches thick walls?

I want to drill a hole for my air conditioner vent hose which is 150mm diameter. Thanks.
Asked by: UmerS
Yes, you remove it when halfway and remove what’s in the core and then keep going - almost all cavity walls are more than 150mm so it’s not going to be a lot of use otherwise. I bought the Erbauer kit but not including this size, that comes with the relevant extension bar.
