ERA 1830-31 Double Locking Night Latch Brass 40mm Backset (539KR)

High security door lock with a classic and robust design that meets the requirements of insurance companies and police. Ideal for replacing most existing front door locks and is suited for panelled doors. Particularly suitable for glass panelled doors, as the ergonomic internal locking handle, which can be deadlocked by an anti-clockwise turn of the key from the inside, offers additional security against forced entry. High security integral cylinder pull protects the 6-pin cylinder from being drilled. The main bolt is 'automatically' deadlocked into the striker, when the door is closed, preventing it from being retracted by a credit card. Designed with a 20mm bolt throw for even greater security and strength. Face-fitting, non-handed design enabling both left and right-handed operation. A simple snib button enables the latch to be held in the withdrawn position (only), allowing the door to be accessible without operating the handle.

  • Suitable for Timber & Glass-Panelled Doors
  • For Doors 35-57mm Thick
  • High Security Integral Cylinder Pull
  • 20mm Bolt Throw for Extra Strength & Security
  • Non-Handed Design
  • Corrosion-Resistant Finish

Recommended oil

Hi ERA, what oil do you recommend to lubricate this lock with to keep it in optimal working order? Would any good silicone spray be good - such as WD40 silicone lubricant - screwfix item number 86394?
Asked by: archibaldni
Thank you for your enquiry We would always recommend 3 in 1 oil

The difference between a single and double lock nightlatch

So, if i understand it correctly, the only difference between a single and double locking nightlatch is that the doubly locking model can be locked from the inside as well - improving security for doors with panelling or sidelights? Correct?
Asked by: archibaldni
Thank you for your enquiry Yes you are correct, if you leave the house you lock the door from the inside, go out and close the door. If some one was to break a sidelight or gain entry through the back door they would be unable to open the front door as it has been double locked form the inside
