Rated 4 out of 5 by from Handy to have in Used these to fix 75mm fence posts to a wall. 10mm drill bit needed. If doing fence posts it worth getting a long drill bit so that you can put it through the hole in the post. Much easier than faffing about with massive rawlplugs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Important These bolts are available in many sizes. If the bolt you are using is an M8, use an 8mm drill bit. If it’s M6, use a 6mm drill bit. Etc etc Also, ensure the hole you drill is min 10mm deeper than the length of the bolt you are using. If the wall is solid, these bolts will work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rock solid Used to mount a fence post to a wall to swing a gate. 4 of these held the post solid. Aim to secure to the brick centres and be sure to remove any dust and drill the hole slightly over depth. Secured with an impact driver, but a ratchet spanner would do. Just wish availability of products was better

Would the120mm or the 100mm Bolts be best, for fixing a length of 6x2(50mm) to a brick wall.

Asked by: NIGHTTIME
Hello NIGHTTIME, This is entirely dependant on what the 6x2 is going to be used for. If a lot of weight is going to be put on it then the longer one will have more pull out resistance in the brickwork. Thank you for using Q&A

I assume these can be used in high dense blockwork? The reply to the other question re blockwork does not make sense??

Asked by: Ombos
Hello Ombos, These can be used in concrete blocks but what some people think of as a concrete block are actually thermalite or aerated blocks which are too soft for these to get a proper purchase in. Thank you for using Q&A

What size hex bolt head are M10 120mm, as I've got three socket sets and not one of them fit the top of the bolt, I want to use my Dewalt drill to drive them in.

Asked by: saunders007
Hello saunders007, The diameter of the head is 15mm and would therefore need a 15mm socket. Thank you for using Q&A

Windbreak

We are installing a windbreak along our garden, it has a main post in the middle and two anchor posts at the ends, 6m long in all. Would these bolts be sturdy enough? The wind gets quite strong here.
Asked by: Patty54
Hi Patty54, Due to the amount of variables involved in this project we are unable to recommend products for this use. We would advise that you seek the advise of a professional tradesperson in this instance. Thanks for using Q&A

Can these fixing bolts be used with a resin for fixing truss hold down/wall plate straps

Asked by: garage1
Hello garage1, These type of fixings are not normally used with a resin so we would not recommend it. Thank you for using Q&A
