Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cordless Nail gun after doing some tests with my colleges nail guns .decided this was best option .no gas to contend with

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely Ace! I've had mine for 3 years now, so can comment on reliability properly. I have fired literally thousands of nails and used it both indoors and out in the rain. Good points:- 1. No gas, therefore no problems on frosty mornings! 2. Utterly reliable using DeWalt nails (not other/cheaper/different brands). 3. The 2.0A battery lasts for about 500 nails plus. 4. It is lightweight and the belt hook is in the right place. 5. Not deafening! 6. Needs no oiling - ever. 7. If you get a jam due to a nail hitting something like a screw etc, simply flip the lever to free it then carry on. 8. For a brad gun it really does a strong nailing job. The Dewalt nails are a bit rough on the edges, so grip well. Bad Points:- 1. Price 2. Every now and then you hit a knot or something and that means the nail head isn't fully sunk. You need to keep a nail punch and hammer nearby to give it an extra tap. 3. You need to use Dewalt nails, but they're not expensive as you're not buying gas. Don't be talked into using other brands. I've used Dewalt stainless nails for timber cladding and galvanised for everything else. It really is a big improvement on my old Paslode, which hated cold mornings and you needed hearing protection. 3 Years on, it still looks good because I clean it and look after it and never put it away damp. Batteries are still as new and I'm going to buy the first fix bare gun to complete the package.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice This is a nice bit of kit, the only negative is, that it doesn’t indicate when you have ran out of nails.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nail gun for house build I have not used a nail gun before, but with my house build underway and lots of jobs ahead I decided to take the plunge and buy a nail gun for the first time. First impressions - really easy to set up and use. Gets jobs done in a fraction of the time compared to hammer and nails. Makes some jobs possible where hammer and nails would not because of access. Reliability - too early to say, but the brand reputation gives some confidence. Limitations - I would say that this nail gun is only suitable for light applications...I am currently using it for internal battening prior to plasterboard, and will use it for soffits and cladding, but it would not cope with structural timber framing as the nails are too light. Other points - very light to use, but this means that rough usage could result in it breaking. Overall, worth the not inconsiderable expense as long as it remains reliable.
