Rated 5 out of 5 by from Decent sized trunking Ok a little bit more than I wanted to pay but a nice capacious size that I got 6 cables inside no problem with space to spare. Bought a pair of outside corners to go with it as I was mounting this trunking at the base of the skirting going around a bay window. Couldn't get the trunking to close up 100% tight on both sides of the corner but no issue, just smeared a bit of caulk in and looked good. Over painted with a single coat of water based gloss to match the skirting and have to say it looks really smart and to the unknowing eye a fender detail of the skirting, very pleased with the overaul look

Can I cut into the cover to introduce a cable half way along the length?

Thank you for your question. You will be able to notch / drill a hole into the plastic profile to allow cables in / out partway along the run. You may also be able to modify an accessory piece to allow the same access.

Is this trunking ok for external use.

Thank you for your enquiry. Yes D-Line lengths are suitable for external use. The trunking lengths are UV stabilised. Please note that the accessories are not IP rated due to the open back. We would also recommend screw-fitting lengths to external walls rather than using the self-adhesive backing.

Will thiis accept 6mm T & E. need to run short length along skirting in utility room to feed a Garage/shed

Yes, this will accept a 6mm T&E cable with lots of spare room. The trunking has internal dimensions of 43mm wide and 22mm high. A 6mm T&E cable is approx 14mm wide by 7mm high.

Can this product be painted?

Many thanks for your question. Yes our Decorative Trunking can be painted - we would recommend that a fine sandpaper be used to scuff the surface prior to painting. Kind Regards

Hi, does this comply with BS7671 for mechanical protection against nails and screws etc?

It would provide some mechanical protection, but not against piercing by screws/nails. Though durable, a nail or screw would go through it easily and into the cable[s] inside. For mechanical protection against that sort of risk you would usually use steel conduit or trunking. BTW if it's visible in trunking, why do you need protection against nails or screws?
