Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good first impressions I took a punt on one of these as a cheap alternative to replacing the old water softener in my house that had died. I'm glad I did, as I can already see a difference in the water. There's no scale build up at all on the shower head, which is always a telltale sign. Very easy to fit, inexpensive. What's not to like?

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It's ok I live in a very hard water area and was hoping this eliminated the limescale, which it didn't. It has however reduced it slightly, so there has been some benefit and not a complete waste of money. The limescale particles that is present in the kettle are a lot smaller and dont stick to the element as much. So hopefully this is the same in the boiler, and other heater elements around the house

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brilliant I wish I had installed one years ago. What took me the time, was deciding whether to to take the plunge. The price of this meant I had nothing to lose. It took me less than 10 minutes to install and switch on. The effect was instant, as soon as I had washed my hands they felt smoother. I can't see any reason why it should not continue to perform.

What is the minimum length you need including the gap between the coils?

I have a tight space after the stopcock before the pipe splits. There is no space before the stopcock. Also, how long is the mains cable?
Asked by: Sharkfin74

lead pipe into copper- how far?

How far from the lead pipe (which is main coming into the house) can this be safely installed? after the stopcock I have 15mm copper all the way- can it be installed straight after stopcock or is there any specific safe distance from lead pipe required??
Asked by: artek
The product remains effective if fitted to copper pipe downstream of any existing lead work. There is no specific distance required.

I notice that there are very few coils of wire around the pipe compared to my previous scale inhibitor, Would two of this product work better or is that a waste of money? Thanks!

Asked by: Caje
This unit is suitable for all pipes from 15-35mm. The coil supplied should be sufficient to meet the requirements of a minimum of 12 turns for each coil. A second unit isn't recommended or necessary.
