Rated 5 out of 5 by from I had my doubts As a plumber I had my doubts but a my mixer valve would not adjust temperature anymore due to scale I’d thought I’d try it to save having to re tile bathroom to replace mixer 2 days after install mixer valve become free and usable so what I thought was a box wth red light on it and a few wires poking out has saved me having to redo bathroom for a couple of years much to annoyance of misses so if it is con as some people say when you google its done the job and I’m happy

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to install After years of scale build up I decided to try and protect our newly installed shower. It’s too early to say if it works but after two days, we have already noticed scale coming off the kettle. I installed it on the mains water inlet to the house and the installation was very quick and easy. That said, please make sure you have a local power socket otherwise this installation could become far more complicated! The unit looks neat and tidy so fingers crossed it keeps functioning and does what it’s said to do.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Does Absolutely nothing Makes no visible difference to hard water / scale residue. It cannot - if there are minerals or anything else dissolved in water - when the water evaporates the solutes will be left behind, end of. Don't waste your money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Noticed a difference in the scaling in the kettle straight away, not only did it stop scaling it started softening the existing scale - my kettle is now clean ! Once the 'treated water' had worked it's way round the system we also started to notice a difference all round the house - chrome fittings were staying shiny after being cleaned. An excellent bit of kit.

I have 300mm of 15mm supply pipe before the stopcock ,can you fit the antennas before the stopcock

Asked by: bqbishop

Can the coils be fitted either side of a 90 degree elbow joint - is one vertical and one horizontal as space on rising main is limited?

Asked by: Hessle
For optimum performance the coils should be wrapped around an uninterrupted length of pipe. However, the unit can be fitted either side of a joint if necessary. Please ensure there is a minimum gap of 50mm between the coils with a minimum of 12 turns for each coil, depending on the size of your pipework.

Which model is this?

Pictured is a Bayhill Aquamate but the title says it’s a BWT. Looking on the BWT website this model isn’t listed only the LW2 Wrappa. What exactly is supplied?
Asked by: WaterWorkz
The product supplied is the Aquamate. Please click the Specifications tab and scroll to Downloads for the data sheet. The LW2 is a different model.

How close to plastic pipe fittings?

Am I right in thinking the requirement to keep coils away from pipe fittings only applies to metal fittings, not plastic ones?
Asked by: 4eyesbetterthan2
The advised 1m gap is to give the characteristics in the water a chance to alter before entering the heat appliance. The machine works most effectively this way.

can this be used on painted pipe?

Asked by: faltonbrass
Yes. The only pipework we do not recommend installing this unit on to is lead pipework - lead dulls the electromagnetic field.
