Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to handle DIY ladder Bought this as an occasional-use DIY ladder rather than as a loft ladder. It is light weight and easy to handle but it feels solid in use. Its short length when retracted (about 5' 4") means it can be stored in a cupboard. Very pleased with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super Great bit of kit, TBH, was well surprised when I opened the box, everything in there to convert your loft opening and not just the ladder, hinges and lock for the hatch and easy instructions.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great ladder - minor issues I fitted this myself without too much trouble. When I measured the required drop, I measured from ceiling to floor. I should have measured from the top of the beam that I was mounting the ladder on. Pretty obvious mistake by me in hindsight, but perhaps the instructions could have helped here too. When I dropped the ladder down, the sticker to help with the ladder angle was stuck on the wrong side of the ladder. It was impossible to get the dark bar vertical. I removed this sticker and stuck it on the other side of the ladder. This is how I realised my first mistake. I was able to easily correct the drop of the ladder by adding end stops. The only other issue I had was the nut that the instructions says is 8mm is actually 7mm. I don't have any 7mm sockets, but was able to use an adjusatible spanner. Someone asked if there were catches on both sides of the ladder. I am pleased to say, yes there are. Overall, I am pleased with my purchase. The installation is pretty easy. The instructions are great. I read them through fully before installing then followed them carefully. So to potential purchasers: go for it - great value loft ladder. Much better than trying to use a step ladder. To the manufacturer: 1) Clarify how to measure the drop 2) Either stick the angle assistance sticker in the right place or update the sticker design 3) Update the "8mm nut" to read "7mm nut"

Does the ladder have locks both sides

Does the ladder lock on both sides. Had one before only catched on one side which makes ladder pull out of shape a little.
Asked by: Paul19283827
Yes, there are catches on both sides.

My loft hatch only opens into the loft, its not on hinges

My loft hatch only lifts up and slides into the loft space, can i still use this ladder without converting the loft with the hinges?
Asked by: Anonymous
Hello Anoymous, The loft ladder is suitable for a loft opening let flush into the ceiling, having a hinged trapdoor opening downwards, with a suitable fastener to keep the hatch firmly shut. If the trapdoor does not hinge downwards,or is not hinged at all, you will need to adapt or replace it so that it does. The parts needed are enclosed. Thank you for using Q&A
