What is Super Glue?
Super glue is widely used in most households. Known for its versatility, it can be used for DIY quick-fixes, but also for industrial applications. Depending on surface area, normally only a small, thin layer is used to create a strong hold, therefore making it a convenient and cost-effective glue to use.
Super glue can be used on many surfaces, especially for repairs and bonding materials together. It works especially well on plastic, metal, ceramic, wood, rubber and leather. It can also be used on glass (providing it won’t need to withstand high temperatures). However, super glue isn’t suitable to be used on materials that are flexible, surfaces that are constantly exposed to water or high temperatures, or to connect large gaps.
How does Super Glue work?
Super glue works through a chemical reaction called polymerization. In short, when the glue is applied to the surface area, the moisture triggers a reaction to allow the molecules to connect (and seal the surface), creating a hardened appearance and tight hold.

Tips to speed up drying process
Moisture – by adding a little moisture, you can help speed up the super glue drying time. You could try lightly breathing on the surfaces, or work in a more humid room. You could also use a fan, which will improve air circulation allowing fresh air with more moisture to the surface.

Environment – if you work in a warmer area the glue should set quicker. You could try using a heater to ensure the space stays a consistent temperature.
Surface cleanliness – ensure the surface is lightly clean (if applicable), and remove any oil, grease and dust before applying the glue.
