We recognise the importance of Sustainability to Screwfix customers and colleagues, and as part of our bold sustainability strategy, we have developed our own internal Green Store certification to further drive our commitment to reducing environmental impact, and promoting positive community impacts, while engaging and empowering colleagues.
The ‘Green Store’ Certification will support our more than 950 store teams across the UK and Ireland in playing an active role in Screwfix’s responsible business progress. Each store is equipped with a personalised dashboard that highlights five key themes and targets.
- Sustainability training – all store colleagues complete 3 training modules on our e-learning platform, LEO. Modules include: ‘Sustainability’, ‘Refurb’, and ‘Green Star Products’.
- Printing reduction – each store will have a bespoke target to reduce their printing.
- Collect & Repair – send at least 50% product returns that are eligible for repair.
- Green Star products – at least 1 in 20 product sales through the store are green star products.
- Screwfix Foundation fundraising – raise at least £1000 in the year for the Screwfix Foundation.
By meeting targets in four out of the five themes, stores can achieve our ‘Green Store’ certificate and some rewards for their teams.
