Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dont waste your money! Hands down the worst thing I have ever bought! Cheap and falls apart as you try to install. Then seemed fine and had it running for a few mins after a bath before it was ridiculously loud. Works ok with the cover off but then found the noise came from the fan slipping down its metal pole rubbing against the cover. Will not buy again!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Reasonable for the price I bought 4 of these to provide additional covid ventilation. I bought these for the draft shutters so that I didn't have to replace existing vent outlets but found that half were broken where the spring joins the flap. The electrical circuit board is not fixed well and two fell off during installation. After all four were installed, one was found to have a jammed motor, delaying the project. They aren't silent but the running noise isn't too bad and they look OK. Would I use them again? Probably.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Really noisy fan Really, really loud. Very disappointing. Simply Silent is the name, with 'Ghost' air movement technology and long life ball bearing motor to suppress motor noise, etc. A load of tosh. The motor has a really annoying loud hum which you can hear over the air movement, which is also nowhere near quiet, let alone 'silent'. How do they get away with naming these products? And I don't understand these other reviews saying its quiet. On the plus side, It seems to shift the air ok, and I changed from the VX model to get the backdraught shutters. I put little soft pads on the shutters so that they closed quietly as although they are on weak springs, they do clatter about when its windy and the fan is off.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from No good Doesn’t fit flush with wall. 150mm output to 100mm (common flex used) requires a lot of space. Baffles require even more space making the unit depth 15-20cm which for interior walls is impossible/impractical.

Front Plate size

i want to replace an existing utility fan which requires a front plate of 250mm x 250mm; does this unit fit? If it is that size, what are the dimensions between the fixing screws?
Asked by: bingleyblue

Does 241m3/hr equate to (601/s) to comply with building regs

Asked by: Xderth

I need to replace an old DX150 extractor fan. It looks slightly different from the one which you sell now. Will it fit with my existing wall tube?

Asked by: nitsxzq

What is the weight of this fan?

Asked by: LTH1

Can this be switched on direct from single gang wall switch or do you need to pull a cord too?

Asked by: JRElectrical
There is no reason why this could not be switched with a wall switch (providing you meet all standards) after all a pull cord is exactly the same thing just mounted on the ceiling. Any normal light switch would do, no need for additional isolation (can even be run of the lights, depending on rating of lamps and switch).
