Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just the job this is a nice compact size. I bought it for sharpening tools when I am away from my workshop. It does the job well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very handy I bought this to touch up router bits, which it did just fine, then I ended up sharpening all my chisels in a few minutes, took out any chips very quickly. Encouraged by this I moved on to my smoothing plane blade which needed squaring up and got that nice and square with a keen honed edge. I've discovered that it also quickly puts a sharp edge back on to tungstan tipped masonry bits, which will probably pay for itself alone. No oily mess, good flat surface, small enough to keep in a tool pouch, it's a very handy bit of kit, and has made my trusty oilstone redundant. The only downside, as others gave mentioned, is that it's hard to tell which side is which, it could do with some markings on it.

Does anyone know if you can sharpen your mower blade with this tool? If so, how do you use it?

I want to sharpen my mower blade slightly and my shears but i have no idea what im doing as ive never had to do it before. Can this item do the jobs? If so, how do you use the item? Thanks grandma Aj
Asked by: Aaje
Yes the Trend Diamond Sharpening Card can be used for sharpening gardening tools. Firstly, please ensure the mower is not connected to the power when sharpening. We recommend using four strokes of the sharpening card on each side of the blade but, however many strokes you use, you should repeat the same amount on both sides. If swarf begins to build up on the card you can use a pencil rubber to remove and carry on sharpening.

How can you tell which side is which? (I have bought one and it isn't obvious)

Asked by: NoviceTim
Thank you for your enquiry regarding our diamond stone, you should be able to feel how corse the stone is which is a good indicator to show the smoother side 360.kind regards Andy

1mm ?

just wondered if description right 1mm thick seems quite thin to me. Trend advert on you tube says trend cards are thicker than cheaper ones and therefore better but i would think 1mm is about as thin as you can get
Asked by: jetplane
The thickness of 1mm in the description is correct. The stone has a fine grit of 600 and a coarse grit of 360. It measures 82mm in length, 50mm in width and 1mm thick.

Does this item require oil for sharpening?

Asked by: Aussiekpc
Hi, we recommend that diamond stones should be used with a lapping fluid to improve the diamond cutting action and prevent rusting or clogging of the stone.
