Hi
Is the coating suitable for treated timber ACQ
thanks jeff
Hello,
ACQ treated lumber can be corrosive to metal, however, these screws are ruspert coated so have a high corrosion resistance and should therefore be ok to use. However, most ruspert coatings will eventually wear away.
So, if the timber you have is going to be a permanent feature (i.e permanent decking etc) it would be advisable to opt for hot dipped galvanized or stainless steel nails/screws as these would last much longer in ACQ treated wood, as well as being even more corrosion resistant than these ruspert coated screws.
You may wish to consult with a tradesperson for additional advise. Alternatively it might also be a good idea to contact the manufacturer/supplier of the timber to see what they are able to recommend.
Thanks for using Q&A.
