I have purchased this from Screwfix and on the list of features it said it had an internal overflow. I purposely overfilled the system but no internal overflow seemed to come into play. Was this advertised correctly?
Thank you for your enquiry,
We would like to know some more information if possible. Could you tell me what type of cistern the Syphon was fitted into, or how this was tested ?
The Internal overflow is designed to allow excess water, once it reaches the “ Spill Over Point of the Syphon “ to overflow into the down leg, and then into the Toilet Pan.
( Normally this is caused by a failure of the diaphragm washer of the inlet valve, allowing a small amount of water to gradually fill the cistern with water )
The internal Overflow is not designed to take a Full Bore failure of the inlet valve. i.e the Rapid filling of the cistern with water
I trust that this helps, but if you need any more information, please give our team a call on 0121 530 7000
Kindest Regards
