Can this be used to convert a column radiator to electric? Which valve could I add to control the temperature? Thanks.

Hello. Yes this form of single heat element is perfect for using with a column radiator where it will be installed horizontally, as denoted by that style of radiator. Simply match the output of the radiator in watts to the wattage of the heating element. You can buy an additional temperature control plate device which will allow you to control the temperature of this element. Screwfix don't offer this but you'll find this online.

Is this suitable for a dual fuel set up? Would I need additional elbows/connectors for central heating supply?

Hello. Yes this heating element can be used in a dual fuel set-up.
Remember this is fixed temperature element so there will be no control over the output or surface temp. We also offer fully thermostatic elements which offer full control. If you have a chrome towel rail these can get very hot to the touch (as they insulate the heat) so sometimes its better to have some control over this.
The best valve to buy along with the valves would be Screwfix product code: 7889V.
This valve will negate the need for the extra T-piece.
