Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very handy tool I bought this to strip a steel (4130 CrMo) bicycle frame. The description says that it "removes paint, varnish, rust and scale", and it did, quickly and efficiently. The description also says that it does it "without damaging the surface", but the wheel left a brushed finish on the tubes. The wheel was hardly worn when I was done, so top marks for reliability. One star lost everywhere else because it was more aggresive than the description lead me to believe. This meant I had to wet sand the frame afterwards, so the job took longer than I anticipated. I would take extra care if using this on aluminium...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for heritage work These have been very good cleaning off rust from canal mileposts which are made from cast iron which is over 100 years old. This provided an excellent base for painting. Just remember to wear a dust mask!

Loosening

It seems that no matter how tightly I screw up the bolt, it quickly comes loose when using with a drill. Am I doing something wrong?
Asked by: BGD1

Would this clean silicone off bathroom tiles without scratching the tiles?

Asked by: AnthG
Hello AnthG This would not be suitable for for removing silicone sealant from tiles. You may have better luck using a sealant remover such as the No Nonsense Sealant Remover 100ml (88987) which we currently sell Thank you for using Q&A (CW)

Is this suitable for indoor use?

Is this suitable for indoor decorative use -- for stripping paint off skirting boards, for example, or would it be too harsh?
Asked by: User366
Hello User366. The preparation wheel is designed to be used on metal, wood, fibreglass, granite, brick and stone, and is more designed for external use, as far as we are aware you should be able to use on your skirting board, as long as care is taken in use. Thank you for using Q&A.
