Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks good to me. Bought this as the price is good, it is easy to apply and seems to go a long way. No smell which is good too. Only time will tell me how good it is at preserving my shed. I have faith in it though

Rated 1 out of 5 by from waste of time if you want to use this outdoors dont waste your time and money as it says on the tin it HAS TO BE painted over so you can do the job twice

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Product Information Unlike other wood preservers this preserver will not work outdoors unless the wood is varnished or painted. This information is not provided anywhere by Sika. It's not on their website. It is not on the product data sheet. Once you have taken the tin home you will find that this information is not even on the tin. It does say that for "environmental reasons" the wood should be overcoated. The reasons for painting or varnishing are not " environmental" The product will wash away and the wood will rot unless you overcoat. Lots of people buy external wood preservers to care for bare wood. This product will not work in this situation and Sika are not upfront about this.

is this safe to use on OSB?

Asked by: FR56
Hi. We would not recommend this for use on OSB as it wouldn't be able to penetrate through the glue.

I am laying a new ground floor suspended timber floor, using treated timber joists. Can I use this to seal the cut joist ends? If so, how many coats and is there anything else I should know?

Asked by: onemorequestion
Hi, Sika Wood Preserver will preserve the timber and the ends may be dipped. This is not a sealer though so would need overcoating if a sealer is required.

Why does Sika website, data sheet and tin not say that this product is unsuitable for outdoor use unless painted or varnished

Asked by: Nickname222
Hi, information on the tin states external timber must be overcoated.

Can I use this on decking? I've a load left over so thought it might be a good way to get rid of it!

Asked by: Smiler83
Hi. If use externally this cannot be used as a final surface and should be overcoated with a weather-resistant coating.
