Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointing There's cheap, then there's too cheap to do the job properly. Sadly this drill isn't up to scratch. Some things, like the clunky operation and lack of a rack and pinion riser, I could live with at this price point if it was capable of being accurate. It is not. Even under no load there's a lot of vibration. Some of the seems to be coming from the motor but the whole belt drive assembly looks cheap and lightweight. The main column is a suspiciously cheap steel tube and this really doesn't help. Combined with some wobbly bearings in the quill (you can feel a clunk as the chuck rattles from side to side) any drill bit you choose wanders around in the work. With large bits this enlarges the hole. With fine bits, it becomes very easy to snap the bit altogether. Oh and for reasons unknown it comes with a pointless laser attachment.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not a great product Yes it is cheap, but it still needs to do its job properly. It is frustrating to use. The collet keeps falling out even though I have followed the instructions, which has been translated into very bad English. The drill bit has too much vibration. The rod is lose in the bottom base even though the nuts are super tight. The adjustable nuts to set the drill depth is not accurate and the nuts move from the vibration. The adjustable base should be on teeth to move it up and down for better usability and accuracy. All I can drill down to is a depth of about 46mm max which is something I didn't realise, but maybe it is mentioned somewhere. Wish I had bought a different one.....

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Average The main problem, well the only problem, is the chuck. It's a push fit on a tapered shaft. Despite me cleaning it several times mine would not stay on until I left it and the shaft soaking overnight in degreaser. The plastic guard thing gets in the way of the chuck, which is keyless, making it almost impossible to get a decent grip on the chuck to tighten it. I removed the guard but still have problems making it grip anything large such as a hole saw. It drills straight and true when the chuck doesn't fall off and the bit doesn't spin in the jaws, but that chuck itself gets 1 star out of 5.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Scheppach Bench Drill As usual Screwfix High Wycombe were great to deal with. Item arrived direct from the manufacturer within 2 days. Was given gift tokens for Christmas - annoying that you can't use them on line. Have only drilled 1 hole at the moment to check that the drill worked, so can't comment on reliability yet but seems well made. Assembly instruction were good, but one piece already fitted by the factory, was explained how to fit in the instructions. Watch out for very sharp corners on the plastic guard. I cut my thumb on the guard putting on the chuck, plaster required. I bought this model as all of the reviews were good

How do you open the speed belt cover?

Asked by: Circuitbreaker
Hi, Squeeze the lid and undo the screw on the side of the lid this will allow you to open the lid. It should also tell you how to do this in the manual.

Removing a drill bit

I have bought this item. I am unable to remove/change the drill bit. The guard gets in the way of getting a good grip on the keyless chuck and it will just not move. The instructions just mention screw counter clockwise
Asked by: Uriahdemon
Hi , You need to rest your hand under the guard to hold it up then grab the top half of the chuck with one hand and the bottom half with the other hand . if you turn both hands towards each other it releases the drill bit, the opposite way with both hands tightens up to the drill bit.
