Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Idea Works well. The concept is good. Some issues in design in my opinion regarding the uprights and the screw mechanism. Would be a better idea if they were at the bottom as when you turn them to push up against the bath they move out of position. Job completed withsome timber to brace uprights.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good idea, poorly implemented This is a really good idea and an option if building a timber frame isn't your skill. Having used this, I would opt for building a timber frame from scratch in preference as it is quicker and more rigid from the get-go. The metal frame is wobbly until finally positioned which is frustrating when you need to get things lined up. The threads on the end posts have been over-sprayed which makes them impossible to tighten without re-cutting the threads. This detail pushed me to say I would not recommend it to others. Of course you still need to figure out how to attach the panel to the frame yourself and personally timber framing has many more options than metal.

How do I fix cement board to this frame, in order to apply tiles?

Asked by: Marc738
Ive found an adhesive or silicone put down the upright members works perfectly, however do not put too much on in case you need access to the services at a later date!

Would this frame work with a 1900mm bath or can extension pieces be bought to extend it?Thanks

Asked by: Aislinn
The frame doesn't work with a 1900 bath as you would not be able to join the front frame to the end frame. If using between two walls, the joining piece would not be long enough either, however you could possibly make it work with some thought but the bottom line is it is not designed for anything longer than 1800.

Can this be glued to the floor for underfloor heating installs

Wondering if this can be glued to the floor to avoid drilling where underfloor heating pipes may be, or whether I glue a piece of wood to the floor and screw this base to the wood?

What is the maximum recommended weight this can support?

Could it be used to support the front edge of a Cast Iron bath if correct support is fitted to the rear side?
Asked by: TCOOK16
The correct procedure for bath support are the feet the bath stands on. The rear support and front frame should not be used to support the bath, water and user alone. They clearly offer a strong extra support but the weight should be taken up by the feet of the bath. The front frame does offer extra support and a framework for the bath finish, be-it a bath panel or a tiled finish.

Would it work with a Whirlpool bath?

The whirlpool bath I intend to buy is in a standard dimension. 1700x750mm. My question is will it be ok with all the tubes and pump going with this kind of bath?
Asked by: Arnaud73
If the bath has a 'lip' for the bath supports to go under then it should fit baths within the specification. 1700 x 750mm is within its specification, however its difficult to say whether the pipes and electrics may possibly get in the way of the upright frame members. My opinion is that it should work but its really impossible to say unless you try it. The frame is very 'Meccano' like and it can be adjusted outside the recommended installation.
