We would generally advise against leaving PVC cables in contact with polystyrene insulation as this can cause the plasticiser within the sheath to leech out, leaving it more rigid and brittle and thus more likely to crack if moved. If it can be ensured that the cable is kept separate from the polystyrene, such as capping or some other means, then this reaction can be avoided.
If, however, contact is unavoidable, then the LSOH variant of this cable (6242B) can be used instead as we believe there is no risk of such a reaction.
