Rated 4 out of 5 by from Simple solution This is a straight forward timer that seem a little more rugged than the alternative one available . It is billed as a compact timer but although it is slim in depth it is still about 60mm square so not that compact

Rated 4 out of 5 by from User Friendly I chose this Masterplug compact plug-in timer over the alternative Masterplug plug-in timer (the one with the dial above the plug) because the dial face on this compact one is larger and much easier to read and operate (the dial on the other one is far too small to read and operate easily). Uncomplicated to use, it's just the job for me to put on my elderly mother's radiators to time them to come on and off as she won't remember. Would have given 5 stars on performance, knocked one off because it would be useful if there was some way of showing a different colour on the pegs for those which are on and those which are off.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what you need No gimmicks, no frills, just straightforward timer function. Just what I needed for random times of lights on when we were away.

Timer freezes each day when it gets to 12pm. Anyone had this happen?

Asked by: Gavin1982
Hi, we are sorry to hear that you are experiencing unexpected operation (or lack thereof) from your Masterplug brand Plug-In Compact Timer. From what you describe the timer sounds to be faulty, so you should return it for replacement (assuming that it is still within its 1 year warranty period).

Is this suitable for an oxygen breathing machine.

Is this timer suitable for my partners oxygen breathing apparatus. She sometimes needs oxygen of a night, and hopefully this timer would turn it off, if she falls asleep.
Asked by: Pavel131
Hi, thank you for your product enquiry. This Masterplug brand Plug-In Compact Timer has a maximum switching capacity of 13A (3.12kW) resistive or 2A (480W) inductive, so as long as the oxygen breathing machine is below these maximum load levels it should not be any major issue for the timer. All you will need to do is set a time period during which you are happy for the apparatus to be operating and then at the end of this period the timer will cut off the power supply to it and thus deactivate it.

Could this be used to charge an electric car?

The electric car charges at 2.5kw using 10amps. Could the timer be used to charge during economy 7 rates?
