Rated 5 out of 5 by from Leaves a very rich finish After sanding my garden furniture down to bare wood, I used a cheap microfibre cloth and this product. Previously used Danish oil but this leaves a nicer rich finish, and after two coats it looks better than new. Time will tell if it holds up through being in all elements, but for the price I am more than happy to reapply once a year. I would highly recommend wearing disposable gloves, as with all varnish its a pain to remove from your skin.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Did a good job Does the ok. I’d sanded the top of our garden table to remove the greyness then brushed on a couple of coats. Went on quickly and easily with a 2” brush. Poured the oil into a clean jam jar. Brush cleaned easily with white spirit. The table looks fine with a pleasing colour. We’ll see how it looks in a couple of months and apply again if needed.

Is this suitable for using on balau decking ?

Asked by: Peddlewick

Can this be used to treat fence panels

Asked by: swuk
No this is for treating furniture, it would cost a fortune to treat fence panels. You'd be much better off using a proper fence paint or treatment like Ducksback, much cheaper and better.

Garden Furniture

Can this oil be used on new wooden tantalised garden furniture
Asked by: Andynl
Hello, If the wood has already been treated (tanalised) then any treatment/stain you try to apply over the top will likely wash/wear away (the original treatment blocks other treatments /stains/liquids from being able to penetrate or absorb into the wood). It wont hurt to apply this oil over the top, but it will likely be unnecessary (but you can if you want to ensure maximum protection for the wood). After a few months you'll need to apply a treatment (as the tanalising treatment will weather away over time), but typically within the first 6 months the treatment applied by the manufacturer is usually enough. Try the droplet test on the wooden furniture. Drip a few droplets of water onto the wood, if the water is absorbed quickly into the wood then it means that the wood could do with a new coat of treatment. If the water beads on top then it will not need another coat of treatment. Thanks for using Q&A. [DG]
