Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good stuff, good price. I have used expensive furniture oils previously but this as effective as any I've experienced. You can pay £40 for a tin this size so great value as well as good results!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Handy size, good price This oil does the job, 2 - 3 coats and makes wood look lovely. 1st coat will soak into the wood and 2nd and 3rd coat start to build up the finnish. It will make hardwood go a slight darker but also brings out the grain and makes it pop.

Is precondition required.

Will this blotch and is preconditioning required, or any prework?
Asked by: 18Mark86
Hello 18Mark86, Our supplier has provided the following instructions for this product: 'Application Suitable for application to bare wood or that previously treated with oils. Varnished or painted surfaces must be stripped to enable the oil to penetrate the wood surface. Ensure the surface is free from grease and wax (wipe with white spirit to remove)'. I have emailed the full document to you, as it was too long to post here. They also advised 'With regard to blotching, wood and oils are very unpredictable as it tends to go into the grain of the wood and no two pieces of wood are the same'. Thank you for using Screwfix Q&A.

Have applied coat of satin finish oil. Can I safely apply a clear second coat (you do not appear to stock satin anymore)?

Asked by: SteveH68
Hello, Thank you for your enquiry. With Danish oil it is recommended that you keep to the same finish but as long as you have left the first coat to dry for at least 48hrs it should be fine to use a clear coat. Thank you for using Q&A.

Would this be suitable to apply to a drinks bar in a log cabin to stop any stains?

Asked by: Anonymous
Hello Anonymous, This stain is not food safe and some drinks would still leave stains. This would protect the wood but may not stop staining. Thank you for using Q&A
