Rated 1 out of 5 by from Absolute trash!! Don't even bother with this stuff. I bought this a few years back and the adative was a white milky colour and that stuff mixed and flowed really well. Fast forward to this stuff and the adative is now blue (like windscreen washer fluid) and it is terrible, I don't know whether it is the additive or the powder, but it doesn't mix well, instead sandy deposits are left at the bottom of the mixing bucket. I would understand if I got the proportions wrong, but this is a two part, mix in the bucket, foolproof product. These sandy bits are not unmixed, they look like they have just separated from the mix. On pouring, some of the mix flows, but then the thicker portion comes out and its just a lump of mortar looking mix that needs spreading with a towel - no self levelling what so ever. Shame Screwfix decided to change this as before it wasn't bad at all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple to use Bought 5 of these over 2 days from 2 different Screwfix shops in my area as result of not really knowing how much I would need. The product consists of a bucket, 2 bags of the compound(s) and a container with the resin/ activator. I used a paint mixing paddle in my mains drill to mix it. I had PROBLEMS with the first tub. I assumed that the constituents of both bags were identical. However I dont know if that is the case or not. Neither of them had markings so I assumed that they are both the same. Mixed whole of first bag (approx 1/2 bag at a time) then mix it before adding the next portion. Got roughly 2/3rds of the way through the second bag and it was becoming apparent that this was NOT going to self level. In the end I had to float it out with a plasterers trowel.. I decided to press on using tub no. 2. What I did differently was to put equal parts of BOTH bags into the mix , THEN mixing it with the drill, then adding a smaller quantity (again from BOTH bags) THEN mixing again and carefully monitoring the viscosity. I was successfully able to mix in both bags and get a nice flowing self levelling mix with the 2nd tub and that went in nicely. The following day I used two further tubs (bought from Horsforth Screwfix) to bring my level up to where it needed to be. Again I used my revised mixing method and again I had two very smooth mixes which went into my prepared area over the top of the previous days work with NO further problems.

Can this be used directly on to a damp proof sheet

I need to level and seal a conservatory floor to stop damp rising, would this be suitable to pour straight onto a polythene membrane, and when dried will be covered with a rubberised floor matting,
Asked by: Zippy55
Hello Zippy55 I wouldn't put a self levelling compound directly on top of a DPM as the compound is only laid in a very thin layer and as there will be no adhesion it will crack up as soon as any pressure is applied. Thank you for using the Screwfix Q&A service.

what is the area of cover for this product? I hope that I should only need about 2mm depth of levelling

What primer should be used with product?
Asked by: tramsar
Hello tramsar, The exact coverage will depend on how thick you apply it, but as an approximate guide at 5 mm thick you should expect to cover around 1.5sq metres. Every installation/usage is different due to the varying circumstances of the site and environment. Therefore we advise that you contact a local tradesperson who will be able to view and assess your particular requirements. They will be able to provide further advice for the installation/usage of the leveling compound and which primer should be used. Thank you for using Q&A

Does this set totally hard?

I'm levelling a stone floor for a washing machine to sit on. I do not want any elasticity.
Asked by: Grazk
Hello, Thank you for your enquiry. This does set hard but not sure how suitable it would be for use under a washing machine due to the vibration, (this is designed to be covered i.e. with tiles, wooden flooring etc). Hope that helps. Thank you for using Q&A.
