Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nowwww I get why people rave ....about macalpine..I often think you learn how to appreciate a good product by working with an appalling version first and on this occasion I did exactly that, I won’t name names but suffice to say the first attempt was a FLOP. Changed for the Mac equivalent and boy was it worth the extra £4 or so. Appreciated the internal sleeve on the joint to the pipe run, very solid connection, the rubber was absolutely immovable in that joint (In a good way) I didn’t feel it needed clipping to remain in position even though I wasn’t going up to a waste (wanted for a washing machine and condensate drain and didn’t fancy a stand pipe so capped the top with an air admittance) the appliance joints didn’t have the non return of the competitor but tbh I wonder if these are needed and they did make the assembly a fiddle. By comparison the mac ones pushed together solidly, locked in place so the nut flew on. The telescopic option of this section was great as it allowed me to get the hoses tucked right away and unlike the cheap version the appliance nozzle cleared the other side of the trap so it folded up like a Chinese box. Even the blanking plug was handy! I trimmed the end off (it cuts like cold butter) and pushed it inside a condensate flexi Jose this gave it a much better rubber to plastic seal on the nozzle than just pushing plastic pipe onto plastic nozzle, a jubilee clip and I felt really confident about this join which up until that point I couldn’t find a solution for. I have no doubts this will.not.leak.

should this trap come with the nozzles supplied, there are 2 on the screwfix picture, but the pack itself had no nozzles

Can this be used with 40mm pushfit pipe & fittings

Ajustable?

I need a height adjustable trap. I know McAlpine do a dual washing machine & boiler condensate adjustable model, but I need one with two hose inlets. Is this adjustable?
Asked by: tonyt

Coupling to other pipes?

Fitted this for a washing machine, dishwasher and condensate pipe to feed into, but I can't find a suitable attachment that allows me to couple the top of the trap to a existing push fit pipe (40mm). Any suggestions?
