Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent cordless drill !!!! I had the Makita HP457DWE which I must say was unbelievable never let me done till it did eventually burn out 5 years later! Then decided on getting the MAKITA DHP485STE 18V 5.0AH LI-ION LXT BRUSHLESS CORDLESS COMBI DRILL !!! What an upgrade that was! Well worth the value it’s even smaller and so much more powerful with a twin battery pack making any job possible first time! Highly recommend this powerful little bad boy that simply gets the job done with ease!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Much better I was previously very happy with my old 14V NiCad drill (used since 2005 with very little trouble) but it recently broke so I needed a new one (and to be honest it had never had quite enough power to drill into masonry or other really tough jobs requiring more torque). Did some research and went by experience of borrowing my Dad's Makita a couple of times... This one certainly want cheap, but honestly compared to my old one which I was mostly happy with, this is just on another level. It's lighter and got good battery life, but the main thing is the power is completely different. I'd wondered about getting a corded drill for extra power but I don't regret my decision to get this at all. All jobs I've put it to have been easy peasy. Definitely recommend if your budget stretches to the price.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Makita DHP485 Purchased this drill as part of kit with 2x 5 amp batteries in December 2020. Only been used occasionally for woodwork and just a few holes in masonry. Overall very impressive with lots of power and correct speeds on low and high settings. However the Chuck now wobbles up and down as if the shaft bearings are worn. The Chuck is not loose. Have sent it back to Makita so will revise this review later on outcome. Have other Makita gear and always been top quality till now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Little Drill Well impressed with this drill. Small in size compared to my old Makita NiMH drill but certainly more torque! The LXT 18v system is what attracted me to the drill, with its two batteries. Great set to buy to start you off in investing in the Makita LXT system.
