Rated 3 out of 5 by from A neat compact drill but.. I bought this one because it was compact and could get into small spaces. My first Makita this and my last drill was a DeWalt which had to be replaced when new! The DeWalt now smokes on startup every time!!! My first cordless, a few years ago, was a Bosch , which stood up to everything - only chucked it when the batteries became hard to get and expensive! This one worked well for a few months then the chuck began to move noticeably up and down just like the returned DeWalt. As another reviewer suggested - front bearing shot!!. I started breaking small (less than 3 mm dia drills) Fortunately for me it was swapped by Electricfix with no hassle , I hope this one lasts longer as I have bought other Makita kit which shares the same batteries!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great all rounder combi drill DIY/homeowner review: Things that are good: -very sturdy but light carry case with plenty of extra space for bits and other junk -great batteries, keep cool, charge fast with the included charger, for what I'm using the drill they last a loooong time -very light weight drill when compared to my other 3 brushed drills (no surprise) -plastic ergonomic and cleans really good. Sweat and rust dust from a garden chair stained the drill badly but a quick wipe days later with a wet wipe got the plastic shiny new -does what it's supposed to with ease, light masonry, any type of wood drilling around the house, 2 mm steel plate no problem and very good at screwing because the trigger is very responsive -best feature of the drill, being brushless the drill is EXCEPTIONALLY QUIET Things I don't like: -the chuck is a pain in the bum, holds the bit very well but after 2-3 bit changes sweaty palms makes it flipping slippery
