Rated 2 out of 5 by from Mick p I definitely would not recommend this product not only it’s expensive but, I bought one and only lasted few months before it stopped working. Tried to exchange as it was still under warranty. Had problems as they ran out of stock.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Da Business This tester is one of the best on the market and a good price at the time of purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loop check 107 This is a really useful addition to my kit. A cut above the average socket tester. Perhaps a little more expensive than a lot of other products, but I don’t personally put a price on quality items. If there is a device to help me do something better then it a must have for me. Lightweight, easy to use and view with bright lights and audiable warnings. Good piece of kit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great quick checker The special feature of this device is the earth loop impedence check - most plug in testers do not have that. However it does not give the value of Ze which a professional electrician would measure - it simply indicates if there is a possible earth fault. In a quick check round 3 properties I have found a possible earthing fault in an outbuilding which now requires further investigation. Well worth the money to be able to check so quickly and easily.

Will this check dead sockets on a circuit which has tripped at fuse board? Is there such a product?

Asked by: JJT12
The Loopcheck 107 needs a supply to function and checks the configuration of the supply, the quality of the earth connection and the x1 performance of a 30mA RCD. If your circuit has tripped the 107 is not the product for you, an insulation / continuity test will help you investigate. A decent PAT tester will also help to investigate any equipment connected to the circuit.

How can this socket tester carry out the correct 3 RCD test needed when you are required to know the time of each trip under each imbalance...any info or explanation would be appreciated.

Asked by: RAFRICH
the loopcheck 107 tests the RCD at approximately 30milliamps. It is a supplementary test to ensure the RCD functions.

what are the values of earth loop impedance which result in a green light or check light? I need to get my circuit down to under 100, it is currently under 200, will this tester help me?

Asked by: WhyshouldIhaveanickname
The LED thresholds are 1.8 ohm (Green) and 100 ohm (Yellow) and over 100 ohm (Red) so, yes, this should be a good solution for you. Thanks
