Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Thermostat! We got this thermostat on offer from Screwfix with 15% off. We chose it over Google Nest or Hive largely because we'd previously used Honeywell products before and liked the simplicity. Also it's a beautiful box. It replaced a wired Honeywell digital programmer and mechanical thermostat (we wasted a lot of gas with this inprecision). I've used Hive before and hated it as couldn't take it with me to our new house because of a limitation with the hub connected to the router. This one connects wirelessly to our router so no hub is needed. Note I needed an electrician to install this as I am not technically able to do this so can't comment on ease of installation but I would add that our electrician had no problem. We have a heat-only boiler and zone motorised valves to control hot water and heating so was complicated. We haven't connected this to Alexa as no real need as we can control everything from our mobile phones which is what we wanted. We don't use the physical thermostat box itself much as do everything on the app. The app renders the physical box rather unecessary after inital setup. I love the simplicity of the app when a lot of IT is over complicated these days (I work in web app development) so this was the main draw. You can invite other family members to the online account so my partner can control it too with her Android phone (I've got iOS). A drawback is whilst the thermostat box itself is wireless, you have to keep unplugging it at the mains to move it around. I would prefer it to use batteries or be rechargeble. The Geofencing is also really useful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Impressed I was a little worried without ant reviews but have been very happy with how it’s been to program and set up with Alexa. I would also say that I feel the thermostat is more reliable in censoring the temperature which in my opinion is saving us money by not having the heating on for any longer that needed.

T6R-HW the HW part of the device?

Does the T6R-HW need temperature feedback from the HW tank thermostat to work properly or does it rely on the tank thermostat to switch on and off at it's set temperature? Making the HW part of the device just an on-off switch. Regards, Bob...

Difference between Honeywell T6R and Evohome

What is the difference between the Honeywell T6R and Honeywell Evohome?

evohome will allow you to support up to twelve heating zones and one hot water zone per controller. To remotely control evohome, a Total Connect Comfort account has to be created on the following website: https://international.mytotalconnectcomfort.com/Account/Register and the TCC app has to be downloaded on the smartphone. The evohome controller can communicate with thermostatic radiator valves like HR92 / HR91 / HR80 in order to have individual radiator control. The T6/T6R are designed to control one or two heating zones and the hot water using the correct relay box. To remotely control the Lyric T6/T6R, the Honeywell Home app is required on the smartphone only. The T6/T6R thermostats cannot communicate with any thermostatic radiator valve and they cannot be integrated in the evohome system.
