Only issue is when replacing an existing thermostat which is fixed to a single wall pattress the mini barely fills a single pattress.

How many multizones can be controlled?

I am thinking of controlling four zones, one using my existing V3 hive system and by adding three more of these mini hubs. Will that work and what is the maximum number permitted? Is it the same if I used the V3 thermostat instead?

Hello, It sure will. You can have a maximum of up to 6 zones in your property. You just need the one hive hub. For each zone you will need a thermostat and receiver. You can use the standard thermostat or the mini thermostat, both will work. Hope that helps. Many Thanks ^The Hive Team

Programmable without the hub

I know it can be used as a standard room thermostat but can it be set for timed periods without the hub ?

The Hive Mini can be purchased on its own, but it's only part of a larger system. The majority of users – those new to Hive – will need to buy the Hive Hub and Receiver units in addition to the thermostat itself in a package. can this replace a V3 thermostat?

Does anyone know if this would work as a simple replacement for a Hive V3 thermostat. controlling single zone Heating and Hot water gas boiler system.
