Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good little tool I actually bought this for cycle repairs and it was very useful. Have since used it on various other little projects and it has been invaluable. Easy to use and very strong, one of my best impulse buys

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good for occasional use I needed a gear pulled at short notice, this fitted the bill in terms of size and cost. Job complete so satisfied in that respect... I say this tool is occasional use as the thread is poorly cut and of a fairly soft metal so will probably not stand up to daily use. Simple to use however maintaining a straight pull was a little awkward as one of the arms appeared looser than the others; I’m sure a bit of playing and it will tighten/balance out and become easier to pull straight. Recommended for the hobbyist mechanic who has that one off job to do.

Can I use this to remove motorcycle wheel bearings

Asked by: Mantana
Hello, thank you for the question. This product is suitable for gears, bearings and other press fitted parts. It is reversible in that it can be used for internal and external uses. With regards to your specific situation i have looked online and would comment that you can get specific tools for motorcycle wheel bearing removal. As these tools are designed for the specific job in hand that may be more suitable. As the bearing also has a hold in the middle i do not believe you will be able to get the pressure required from the thrust bolts as the thrust bolt would be through the middle of the bearing. Regards, Hilka Tools

I'm hoping this would be sufficient to remove the wheels from my bandsaw. 15 inch cast iron wheels with the central bit that needs pulling about 2.5 inches wide

Asked by: GeorgePJ66
Hello, thank you for the question. This gear puller has a spread of 60-100mm with a reach of 34-65mm. The Thrust bolt length is 100mm. Please check this against you bandsaw to check it would be suitable. Regards, Hilka Tools

Does the size refer to the width or length of this tool?

I really need to know what range of diameters of bearings the 4 in or 6 in puller can latch onto?
Asked by: easypie
Hi, thanks for your query. The spread of the product is 110-150mm and the reach is 75-112mm. Kind Regards, Hilka Tools
