Rated 1 out of 5 by from Failed after 3 years We installed 8 Google Nest thermostats 3 years ago, and 4 no longer work. Given their high cost, this equates to the cost of energy we have used, so rather than save money on heating, in our case they have doubled it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Do not buy for a non-combi Three reasons not to buy for S/Y plan systems: . 1. Since google home recently replaced the Nest API, you will be unable to control hot water circuit using google home. . 2. Furthermore, you'd think you could fallback on the Nest App, but since they've removed the ability to add family members to the Nest App, only a single individual with a phone can do so. Pretty dumb if you ask me. This thermostat is designed for the US market and is not fit for purpose on S and Y plan systems. . 3. If you like to tinker with home automation systems you cannot control the Nest directly (since the Nest API is deprecated). Google home does not allow itself to be controlled by another home automation system, so you're locked into their system for the Nest thermostat control. . As for alternatives, you might like to explore Drayton Wiser instead which looks excellent, and is made in the UK.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do not buy This worked very well for 3 years however if you Google connectivity issues it’s like the plague. The Wi-Fi unit within it fails and it doesn’t connect to the internet any longer. If it’s in the 2 year warranty they will replace it. Outside they aren’t interested even though this is quite clearly a very common defect. Be prepared to continually replace one if you buy it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Shocking Quality We have fitted six of these over the past 18 months and every single one has failed. Two of them are on their third Heat Link receivers. They have a variety of faults resulting in either total failure or being unable to connect to WIFI. As an engineer, the returns process is hard work as you are guided through a long drawn out series of questions to get a replacement with Google acting as though they have never had a faulty unit before. The older units worked fine but unfortunately I wont be fitting any more of the current model.

3 zones accessoroes

Will this work with a 3 zoned heating plant, 2 for heating zones for house and 1 for water. If yes, what is the complete list of items I need. I currently have 2 thermo stat dial in each zone but not the water, please advise
Asked by: AlanSaun
Nest thermostats are usually compatible with zoned systems that use multiple thermostats, including zoned systems with dampers. However, some zoned systems that require thermostat damper control aren’t compatible with Nest thermostats, while other zoned systems may need a C or common wire, or the Nest Power Connector, to be compatible. We also recommend using the Compatibility checker tool on our support page to verify if the wires of your heating and cooling system will be compatible with the Nest Thermostat.

How many zones can it support

Asked by: Vinnycar
Nest Learning Thermostat is usually compatible with zoned systems that use multiple thermostats, including zoned systems with dampers. However, some zoned systems that require thermostat damper control aren’t compatible with Nest thermostats, while other zoned systems may need a C or common wire, or the Nest Power Connector, to be compatible. We suggest contacting a Nest Pro to help you. A local Nest Pro installer will also be able to tell if your system is Nest compatible (and rewire it to be Nest compatible, if needed). You may check this support article for more information: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9232427 You may also use our online compatibility checker first to ensure that your system is compatible with Nest Learning Thermostat. We are getting 3 Zone heating system. Will we need 1 or 2 Nests?

Asked by: RosiePosie1802
Generally, each zone requires its own thermostat which means you would need 3 thermostats for your new heating system. Although each zone can be separately controlled, having a Nest thermostat for each zone and having all three connected in the Nest app can help you adjust and monitor the indoor temperature quite easily.
