Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for porcelain Initially purchased Bosch drill bits individually to drill multiple holes in porcelain bathroom tiles 9mm, took ages to get the holes through and the bits were wearing fast. I ignored advice to just use some cheap glass drill bits and eventually went to pick this set up. They went through the tiles like butter, incredible! Just shows that in some cases the more expensive branded items are always the best for the job in hand!

Can I use these bits to drill a mirror? And which speeds settings would I need for using on my Black & Decker 18v hand drill?

Mirror screw holes?
Asked by: LaBar
Hello, Thank you for your enquiry. These drill bits will drill holes in a glass mirror. We could not advise on the settings for your drill and would refer to the instructions for the drill. Hope that helps. Thank you for using Q&A.

Suitable to drill wine bottles to turn into lamps?

as title suggests, can these be used to drill a hole in the side of the wine bottle to run some cable through? I plan on putting a rubber grommet thingy into the hole to protect the wire from sharp edges.
Asked by: Canderson90
Hi Canderson90, These drills would certainly be capable of cutting a clean hole in a glass bottle, but this would not be possible 'freehand' i.e. using a hand-held drill, because of the curvature. A pillar drill/drill press would be required to ensure that the drill bit does not 'wander off' and the bottle would need to be carefully clamped/secured in such a way that it would not shatter. PPE including safety goggles would also be essential. Thanks for using Screwfix Q&A. JT

What speed should these drills be used at for ceramic tiles?

Asked by: Gotago
Hello Gotago, You should use a slow speed with these drill bits to avoid cracking the tiles. Thank you for using Q&A
