Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ultra quiet cistern filler! Original filler leaking and extremely noisy. Purchased this Fluid master because it stated it was quiet. THAT IS NO LIE, IT IS SO QUIET THAT I HAD TO FLUSH AGAIN TO SEE IF IT HAD FILLED. Easy to install and regulate height of water in cistern. Low rating on reliability, only just installed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Silent monster killer Small child moved bedrooms nearer the loft cold tank and had nightmares that a monster lived in the tank everytime someone used the water downstairs. Fitted this valve myself (older lady) and to be honest the hardest part was undoing the old nut on the old float. The child sleeps well, the house is happy, and I am a hero so win win Totally recommend this device, such a simple invention and works well.

I bought one to replace a broken 1/2” fill valve. The brass shank on this appears to be almost 3/4” at the end which connects to the tap hose. Does this sound right, and do I need a new tap hose connector?

What sort of washer does this use to make the seal?

My one is leaking slightly, and I need to replace the washer (or whatever it is). Hard to access so can't inspect beforehand.
Asked by: PanHandler
After buying the wrong kind initially, I finally found that the required washer is a special kind (with a steel pin in the middle), Screwfix part number 3132D.

Can the fill level be adjusted?

This is to be used for an automatic top up system in a koi pond vortex filter unit but i would need to adjust the level at which it cuts off. Current set up has the level set 10cm below the side entry point. Will this item be suitable please?
Asked by: SHW60
Yes, you can turn the white threaded rod shown on the picture, which raises and lowers the float, hence adjusting the water level at which the valve closes.

Are these suitable for hot water header tanks?

Asked by: dcdcj
Yes, they are ideal for this purpose. I also found it to be *considerably* quieter than our previous valve.

How to adjust for low water pressure

Instructions included appear to be for a different model to that supplied. Our water pressure is very low.
Asked by: Pookie18
I also purchased the Fluidmaster 747UK, and have low water pressure. I had to screw a large screw into the flow restrictor which was inside the valve part, not the shank, and pull the restrictor out with pliers. Then refit as per instructions. Very pleased with it.
