Rated 2 out of 5 by from A poor design After 10 months use, the push fit rubber grommets (controlling flush volume) came loose and fell into the cistern and got flushed down into the toilet pan rim where they lodged and reduced water flow and flush effectiveness. In fact the short flush stopped working, as the reduced water flow meant a continual syphon action started: leading to a massive wastage of water. I much prefer the short flush to be actioned just by a simple pull on the cistern handle followed by an immediate release (the default method of use), and the long flush actioned by holding down the handle: it's more intuitive and saves time (short flushes are the most common). This syphon works the opposite way - and my wife never got used to this! So most flushes were long flushes, and we started using a lot more water. Once I identified the grommet problem I took the trouble to repair the old syphon and refitted it. The old one is now working as new, and we're saving a lot of water! This is my first poor experience with any Screwfix product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from FLOMASTA DUAL-FLUSH SIPHON Cheap but effective replacement for my high level cistern syphon. Not in the trade but found this easy to fit. Worth googling to check which way the seals go as not fully clear in the instructions. Otherwise, a good replacement.

Will this fit in a low level cistern?

Will this fit into a low level cistern (with the down pipe)?
Asked by: Patmacca
Hello Patmacca, This would depend on the space in the cistern so you would have to compare these yourself. Thank you for using Q&A

Will not go in to full flush any ideas

Fitted today new out of the packet
Asked by: igloolad
Hello igloolad, The full flush volume is achieved by flushing the WC in the normal fashion of fully depressing the lever and immediately releasing once the flush has started. If it is still not operating then it may be faulty and can be returned to a local store for a replacment. Thank you for using Q&A

Glugging after cistern fills

Works great but once the cistern has filled I hear a glug every few seconds for about a minute from the pan but definitely not the trap.. the noise is coming down the pan feed pipe from the syphon! No air bubbles rising in the cistern either! Any ideas!
Asked by: nozydog
Hello nozydog, We would recommend speaking to a local qualified plumber to see if they can identify the source of the noise. Thank you for using Q&A
